Short-Term and Long-Term Disability

When you need to be away from work for more than a week due to serious health conditions, you don't want to worry about finances. With disability coverage through Prudential, you don't have to. Short-Term and Long-Term Disability provide income protection and peace of mind at no cost to you.

Eligibility

You must have at least six months of continuous, full-time service with Ingram before coverage starts. If you are eligible, both Short- and Long-Term Disability are 100% paid for by Ingram. Deckhands, leadmen, and part-time associates are not eligible.

Short-Term Disability (STD)

What does it cover?

STD coverage is for a non-work-related injury or sickness that causes physical or mental impairment serious enough to keep you from performing the duties of your regular job.

When does coverage start?

Coverage starts after being disabled and out of work for seven consecutive days to satisfy the Elimination Period. You must be under a physician's care to be considered disabled.

Are there exclusions or limitations?

Yes. The duration of paid benefits may vary if you are disabled after age 60 or have certain health conditions. There are exclusions and limits for some pre-existing conditions.

How much of my income does STD replace? How long does coverage last?

STD benefits will replace a certain percentage of your annual salary, depending on your position and length of service. Benefits will end when your disability ends, or after 150 days when you become eligible for Long-Term Disability, whichever comes first.
